Overview of Off-Trip Insurance Program
Our off-trip insurance offers essential coverage for eligible vehicles on the Turo platform. This coverage is designed to protect your vehicle while it’s not actively rented and is either parked at its primary location or when managed by an authorized driver through the platform for commercial use.
Coverage Types
Off-trip insurance includes two key coverage options: Liability Coverage and Collision & Comprehensive Coverage. Liability coverage is mandatory. Collision & comprehensive is optional but recommended for the highest level of vehicle insurance.
Liability Coverage
What it Covers
Liability insurance covers you if you are legally responsible for any damage or injury your vehicle causes to others in an accident.
Coverage Limit: Liability coverage meets the minimum amount required by the state where the vehicle is registered.
Deductible: There is no deductible for liability coverage.
Pricing for Liability Coverage
Pricing varies by state, with Tier 1 (T1) rates applicable in most states and Tier 2 (T2) rates for Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, and Washington, D.C.

Collision & Comprehensive Coverage
What it Covers
Collision & comprehensive coverage means you are covered if you are legally responsible for any damage or injury your vehicle causes to others in an accident, and covers damage to your vehicle as well. It also provides an additional layer of coverage against property damage or theft. Losses are covered up to the lesser of the vehicle’s actual cash value, repair/replacement cost, or $100,000, minus any deductible.

There are three collision and comprehensive coverage plans available (inclusive of the liability coverage):

Enrollment
To activate this coverage for your vehicle, it must be enrolled and active within the Turo platform and follow any requirements agreed to in your applicable policy.
