FAQ - GPS Connection

How can I check if my vehicle is connected to an approved GPS provider?

You can view which vehicles Tint sees as connected directly from the Tint portal. To do that, please follow steps 1, 2 and 3.

Step 1: The first thing you’ll need to do is log in to your Tint portal

Step 2: Once you’ve logged in to the Tint portal, the next step is to click “Car Management” on the left side of your screen.

Step 3: Now that you are in the “Car Management”, you can see whether each vehicle is connected or not to an approved GPS provider.

Please note: In case you don’t have one or more vehicles connected, you will see an alert instructing you on how to connect to one of the approved providers.

What should I do if I have an approved GPS provider but my vehicle is not showing as connected?

If you are connected to an approved provider and the vehicle is not showing as connected on our portal, please complete this quick form for the vehicle.

You should not worry! We will ensure we can see this connection before transferring you to the non-telematics plan at the end of November.

I have a telematics device that isn’t on your approved list. Can I use my preferred device instead?

No, at this time, you must obtain and install an approved telematics device, or you will migrate to the non-telematics plan on December 1st. To ensure this is a smooth transition, we offer a 60-day grace period to obtain one of our approved devices. Additionally, we plan to add other telematics devices to the approved list.

What happens if my grace period ends and I still need to connect all my cars to an approved GPS device?

Your off-trip insurance has a 60-day grace period to connect each of your cars to an approved GPS solution. After the 60-day grace period, if you still have vehicles that aren't linked to an approved GPS solution (Bouncie, Zubie, MooveTrax, OneStep, Passtime), those vehicles will be automatically moved to a non-telematics plan starting on December 1, 2024.

This new non-telematics plan is not currently available to hosts, but more details will be available in the coming weeks. We will notify hosts (and update this article) with more details, including pricing.

Please note that all other program rules will remain the same (such as the prohibition of personal use and mileage limits). Therefore, we may conduct audits as necessary to ensure compliance and prevent mileage abuse.
